Tear Down the Walls

So as I sit in my dorm listening to my iTunes while I wind down from the day I’m stuck on this song called Tear Down the Walls by Hillsong. It is such a simple song, but I love what it says:

I always wonder what it would look like to see hundreds of thousands of Christians in the US and across the world doing this. What would happen if we broke though walls that were holding us back in both personal area’s and in our community? Unity…. that is what I believe would happen. It is almost like the American Christians don’t want the unity because we like the way things are but can’t we see that we are divided?

Unity is something the Apostle Paul talks about all over his Gospels. While he is in prison, Paul writes to a few different churches but the one who he talks to the most about unity is found in Ephesians 4. Paul speaks that we are to be One people. This is something we lack in the modern day church.

This song is such a good worship song, but if we don’t act it is only a song. Words on a page, and words while they can inspire they can’t change anything. Actions are what are needed.
